Hurricane Irene!!!!

Lots of pre-Irene preparation going on in the small towns along the north shore of Long Island. Last night and this morning, a U.S. Coast Guard inflatable rescue boat and several National Guard vehicles rolled into the fire department in Northport, NY. Most of the fire departments on Long Island are volunteer, which means that members of a community work together to fight fires and face emergencies when needed. On the night before Irene arrived, Northport volunteer firefighters all met at the firehouse at 7:30 PM to get ready to help anyone who needed it!
